From the origins of Tex-Mex cuisine to the soul of Tejano music, John explores how Latino culture shaped San Antonio—and why that legacy still matters today. Along the way, he meets trailblazers like Poet Laureate Carmen Tafolla, Congressman Joaquin Castro, Tex-Mex icon Shelly Lares, activists Graciela Sanchez, Rosie Castro, and culinary innovators Rico Torres and Diego Galicia. Together, they dive into the city’s history, its fight for justice, and its vision for the future—all while sharing unforgettable food, music, and conversation.
